Traffic will be closed to motorists using the Lapaz-Kasoa stretch of the road on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 10pm to 10am.
The closure is to allow for the phase one tarring of Asphalt on that stretch of the road.
The second phase will take place on the 8th of August which is on a Wednesday, from Awoshie to Kasoa and from Kaneshie to Kasoa.
During this period, all the affected roads will also be closed to traffic.
The Project Coordinator for the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area, GAMA Project, Engineer George Asiedu made this known to the media in Accra during a tour of the site.
He asked motorists to take caution and obey traffic diversions.
The closure and diversion of traffic on both the Lapaz - Kasoa Interchange and the Kaneshie-Kasoa stretch of road is to pave the way for asphalting of that portion of road which was damaged during the construction of the Mallam drain project.
The construction of the Mallam Junction drainage project is expected to curb perennial flooding on that stretch.
The drainage construction is a project under the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Sanitation and Water Project.
Engineer Asiedu also asked motorists to exercise caution during the period of closure.
Unlike the previous closures which were done in the day, the impending ones will be done from night to the following morning where traffic congestion will be less.
