The President’s nominee for Kwahu West Municipal Assembly, Yaw Owusu Addo, has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area. He polled 30 votes out of a total of 38 representing 79 percent with one spoilt ballot. The exercise was supervised by the Electoral Commission from the regional office as well as the Municipality. It was also witnessed by the Eastern Regional Minister, party Executives, MP's and the chiefs and people of the Kwahu Traditional Authority. The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Darfour, asked the newly confirmed MCE to be himself and not to allow himself to be manipulated by anyone. He however entreated him to work assiduously in consultation with Nananom and the assembly members to accelerate the development of the Municipality. Mr Eric Darfour advised him not to heed to hearsay but focus rather on strategies to move the assembly forward. In his acceptance speech, the newly nominated MCE, Yaw Owusu Addo was grateful to God for the favour done him and appreciative to the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him by voting massively for him to steer the affairs of the assembly. He was also thankful to those who rejected him and promised to work very hard to help the President realise his developmental agenda for the Municipality and the nation at large.
