Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District nurses 35,000 cashew seedlings Government’s quest to promote cashew production as cash crop under its Planting for Export and Rural Development is receiving a boost in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District of the Upper West Region. The district is nursing thirty-five thousand cashew seedlings with support from the Ghana Social Opportunity Project, GSOP to distribute to over five thousand farmers who have been registered under the project. GBC’s Correspondent Sualah Abdul-Wahab who visited the nursery at Bussie reports that farmers are eagerly waiting to receive the seedlings to start their own farms which they hope to make some income in the next few years.
