Police prevent clash between students of Commonwealth and Mensah Sarbah Halls The timely intervention of the police stopped near clashes between students of Commonwealth and Mensah Sarbah Halls of the University of Ghana. This was after students from Commonwealth Hall decided to embark on a procession to jubilate the victory of one of their students who emerged as SRC President and Vice of the University. Sylvester Amoako was elected President of the University of Ghana Student Representative Council after the election hit a run-off as all five Presidential candidates could not get the required 50% plus one vote. Sylvester Amoako beat his closest contender with almost 250 votes. Students from Commonwealth Hall went out to celebrate the victory which resulted in them being pelted with stones and bottles.
