Media still not independent – Experts

Speakers at a symposium to herald World Press Freedom Day in Accra have agreed that though the media in Ghana is free it is still not independent of external influences. 

They mentioned media ownership, threat of lawsuits, advertising, personal integrity and professional decisions as some of the greatest threats to media independence and integrity in the country.
