Current pension system is discriminatory - Bawumia

A high level stakeholders meeting has been held in Accra to deliberate on ways to fast track the unification of all the Pension Schemes in the public sector. 

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia addressing participants described the current pension system as discriminatory and does not augur well for pensioners especially those in the formal sector. 

He said there is the urgent need to prudently merge and manage the pension scheme to prevent the situation where successive governments have to borrow to pay pensioners.
