Powerful people are threatening my life – Kwesi Aning

Security Analyst, Dr. Kwesi Aning has revealed that some powerful figures in the country have sent him threatening audio recordings seeking to silence him. 

According to Dr. Aning who is also the Director, Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, those who sent the audios appear to have issues with his security analysis in the media and want to intimidate him. 

He nevertheless stressed that no amount of intimidation will keep him from expressing his views on security matters publicly. 

Dr. Aning's revelations come barely a week after another security analyst, Emmanuel Kotin was assaulted by some Police Officers. 

Mr. Kotin also believes the assault on him was motivated by the stance he took on the Ghana - US military deal. 

Another Security Analyst, Adib Sani in an interview with Cynthia Boateng said the role of security analyst is critical to the country's development and any intimidation is rather unfortunate.

Meanwhile, we are learning that Dr. Aning is currently locked up in a meeting with some top government officials and hierarchy of the security services over the matter.
