10,000 nurses to be employed under Nation Builders Corps

About ten thousand nurses are expected to be employed under the Nation Builders Corps which will be launched on the first of May this year (2018). 

This is part of efforts to absorb the teeming unemployed nurses which has been a source of worry leading to several demonstrations across the country. 

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia who made this known at the ongoing 2018 Health Summit in Accra noted that the move will beef up the workforce in the health sector which is critical to economic growth and development. 

He added that conditions of service will also be improved to encourage practitioners take up postings in the deprived areas.
