Tunnel linking Spintex and East Legon roads opened 

The Tunnel connecting the Spintex road to East Legon has finally been opened to traffic following an expansion work.

The reconstructed tunnel is expected to ease vehicular traffic for motorists on that route.

The Ghana Highway Authority last year announced the reconstruction of tunnel under the Accra-Tema motorway linking the Spintex and East Legon roads.

The new 8.5-meter wide tunnel replaces the old 4-meter wide tunnel which caused heavy traffic during rush hour because it could only carry one stream of oncoming vehicles.
