Colleges of Education ready to run degree programmes

Some Colleges of Education in the country have expressed their readiness to kick start the running of degree programmes in the next academic year.

Speaking to Radio Ghana, the Principal of the SDA College of Education at Asokore-Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Pastor Anthony Anyamesem-Poku said all the necessary preparations have been made for the programme to take off. 

According to him some challenges including the exit of unqualified tutors should be expected when the programme begins. He therefore advised tutors and administrators in the Colleges to upgrade their qualification or make way for new ones to enter.

The Principal of the SDA College of Education indicated that, it is the sole responsibility of the faculty to develop and prepare materials to meet the needs of the students, with the help of Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-Tel), an NGO.
