Upper East Region records 33 percent increase in maternal deaths The Upper East Region has recorded a 33 percent increase in maternal deaths. This is according to figures made available at the first ordinary meeting of the Regional Coordinating Council for this year. Last year the region recorded 44 institutional maternal deaths as against 33 in 2016.
