VGMA Aftermath: Prove Me Wrong and You Can Have My Car – George Quaye 

The Public Relations Officer of Chatter House, George Quaye bets his car on anyone who can prove that he or she voted for Patapaa’s "one corner". 

George stated in an interview with Cecil Obodai on GBC’s Uniiq breakfast drive that Pataapa losing to Fancy Gadam in the ‘Most Popular Song’ of the year Category has stirred much controversies. 

He stated emphatically that he saw the voting results and people did not vote. 

He further dared the Host of the programme, Cecil Obodai to prove him wrong “I can push you to do one thing and if you are able to prove me wrong I can put my car on the line. Go into your offices, starting from this room (studio) and all the rooms to the front, check everyone’s phone if they voted for Patapaa, I bet not a single person voted, prove me wrong and you can have my car.” 

Speaking on Pataapa’s issue, he further explained that Patapaa’s song was not the only popular, songs like Sarkodie’s Pain Killer, Joe Mettle’s Bo no ne,  Fancy Gaddam’s Total cheat, Shatta Wale’s Taking Over, Ebony’s Sponsor, Kidi’s Odo and Kwame Eugene’s Angela, Samini’s My own, Stonebwoy’s My Name were also very Popular. 

The just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) which took place at the Accra International Conference center on Saturday (April 17), saw lots of cheers and tears. 

The annual Awards night recognises the works of musicians and producers who have excelled during the year under review.

The event saw late singer Ebony make history by winning the Artiste of the Year. 

Apart from that historic win, the event also witnessed some exciting performances from some of Ghana and Africa’s biggest acts.
