12th April, 2018 The Ghanaian Times Calls on all Ghanaians to place the national interest and the good name of Ghana above their parochial interests. Article 41 clause (h) of the 1992 Constitution states " it shall be the duty of all citizens to defend Ghana and render National Service when necessary". The paper makes this reference in relation to the recent reports on some 50 Ghanaians who found themselves in Australia, posing as Journalists. The paper says the conduct of the fake journalists has taken over the shine of the country's participation in the games and has also tarnished the image of the country. The Ghanaian Times therefore says it backs any investigation into the matter and calls for sanctions against all the offenders. The Today Newspaper discusses the attacks on journalists by police officers saying it must stop. This is in relation to the recent attack on the Joy FM reporter Latif Iddrisu. The paper says the police who brutally assault journalist should bow their heads in shame. Few media houses are talking about the issue therefore it is imperative that the public join the fight in ensuring that the police who meted out the injustice to Latif are brought to book. It urges the police hierarchy to ensure that the police officers who subjected Latif to that inhumane treatment are made to face the law. The paper says no amount of intimidation will deter journalists from executing their constitutional duties as members belonging to the fourth estate of the realm. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
