PIAC urges AG to probe 50% of projects funded by oil revenue The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), has called on the Auditor General (AG) to investigate the whereabouts of 50 percent of oil funded projects. This follows the Committee's 2016-2017 project inspections which revealed that petroleum funded projects were either non-existent or were shoddily done or not completed. At a media briefing in Accra, Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Steve Manteaw, said the Committee was over- whelmed after inspecting 40 Annual Budget Funding Amount, ABFA, projects in the Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra and Volta regions. Dr. Manteaw noted that the construction or rehabilitation of these oil funded projects without due diligence does not result in the maximization of intended benefits. He explained that though there is transparency in awards, accountability is key to achieve the desired results. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
