NAGRAT Suspends Nationwide Strike The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), has suspended its strike, after an agreement with government on the payment of arrears due members. Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the President of NAGRAT, Angel Karbonu said members received payment of the first trunch of the arrears which was two thousand cedis last week. He said though their expectations have not been met fully, they are optimistic that the remaining trunches will be paid subsequently. A Deputy Minister of Finance, Abena Osei-Asare has given an assurance that, per the agreement reached between government and NAGRAT, the association will not reverse its decision to suspend the strike. Speaking to Ibrahim Kwarteng on our news and current affairs programme “Behind the News,” she said government is committed to the mode of payment and will deliver accordingly.
