Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks of ECOWAS meet in Accra

Finance Ministers and Governors of Central Banks of ECOWAS have met in Accra to adopt a new road map for accelerating the process of creating the ECOWAS Single currency, ECO. 

The meeting, the second of the Ministerial Committee of the Presidential Task Force on the ECOWAS Single Currency Programme, will also make key recommendations on the conclusions of the Technical Preparatory Committee meeting held on the 17th and 18th of this month in Accra.  

The Chairman of the Ministerial Committee, Ghana's Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, urged member states to make sustained progress towards the economic convergence within the Union.
