TUC determined to resist privatisation of VRA The Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, TUC, Dr.Yaw Baah, has accused succeeding governments after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's regime of hiding behind privatization to sell state enterprises to their members or fronted for their financiers to take over such assets. According to him, so far, about 300 state-owned entities have been divested to private individuals, groups or companies under such questionable dealings. Speaking at a forum in Kumasi, Dr. Baah warned that the TUC will join forces with well-meaning Ghanaians particularly the workers’ union of the Volta River Authority, VRA, to resist any attempt by government to privatize the VRA as has been planned by the incumbent government. Dr. Baah gave the warning at the opening of the quadrennial delegate’s congress of the Volta River Authority’s Divisional Union of the Public Service Workers Union. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
