Ghana joins forces with Cuba to fight malaria, other mosquito-transmitted diseases Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia says Government is in discussions with Cuba for the establishment of a Biolarvicide Factory at Savelugu in the Northern Region. This will help control pests and mosquito transmitted diseases in the country and other West African countries. Malaria and other mosquito-transmitted diseases have led to significant number of deaths in Ghana, and also account for billions of dollars in lost productivity in Africa.
