Government says budget for Special Development Ministry not meant to misappropriate public funds

Development Initiatives is to misappropriate or misapply state funds. A statement by the Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid, welcomed the public discussions on the 2018 budget estimates for the Special Development Initiatives Ministry.  

The statement commended the interest shown by Members of Parliament, the media and public, in ensuring that the state is efficient in its expenditure. 

It however, described claims that the Ministry's budget is to misapply State funds, as false.
