13 year old girl rescued from assailant at Ntribuoho

A 13 year old girl has been rescued by a Good Samaritan from an unidentified assailant believed to be in his early 20s who hit her in the neck at Ntribuoho in the Afigya Kwabre district of Ashanti region. 

Narrating the incident to GBC’s Garden City Radio, the victim’s mother, who gave her name only as Attaa Maame, said the girl had been sent on an errand at about 8am. 

Ataa Maame said on the way, the victim saw the young man who pleaded with her to help him carry a load of firewood. But the victim declined and as she was going away, the man hit her with an object from behind, causing her to fall. 

According to Ataa Maame, the suspected assailant then dragged the child to the top of a high hill nearby. She noted that, when the girl tried to identify her attacker while struggling with him, he punched her in the left eye and the girl also bit his thumb. 

The victim’s mother said during the melee, the attacker called his suspected accomplice who asked him to meet him at a point since the accomplice claimed he had missed the direction to the spot. 

According to Ataa Maame, after the attacker had left, a man dressed in a white robe tapped the girl and led her to descend the hill till they got closer to her house before disappearing. 

The woman said the matter was immediately reported to the Kodie Police who issued her with a Medical Report to seek healthcare. 

Ataa Maame said a test conducted on the child indicated that the child did not suffer any sexual molestation from the assailants but that she is now trying to overcome the trauma from the attack.
