Buipe, Yapei Bridges to re-open on Sunday

Buipe and Yapei Bridges in the Northern Region which were closed for major repair works will be reopened to traffic on Sunday. 

The Bridges were closed to vehicular traffic on the 20th of last month leaving motorists and passengers stranded. 

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Akwasi Amoako-Atta, who gave the assurance in Parliament said the works have been successfully completed and both bridges are now in a good shape for use. 

He said this after Parliament approved the 2018 Budget estimates of five hundred and thirty-two million Cedis for his Ministry. 

Mr Amoako-Atta said more money is needed to cover the country’s road network of more than 72 thousand kilometres.

The MP for Adaklu, Kwame Agbodza, said it is unfortunate that the budget of the Roads Ministry was drastically reduced by two hundred million.
