Former President Mahama denies allegation of appropriating military lands

The Office of the Former President, John Dramani Mahama has denied allegations by the Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul that the Former President is occupying or has appropriated a land or property belonging to the Ghana Armed Forces.

Mr. Nitiwul at the meet the press series in Accra Thursday made some comments on this matter.
 
Former President Mahama's office has described the Minister's comments as "unfounded".

A statement signed by Special Aide,Joyce Bawah Mogtari stated the Minister did not provide any details of the said property, and presumes the Minister's claim is in respect to  the current residence of the Former first family.

According to the statement, the Former President and his family currently reside in a residential estate by a private real estate developer.

It said the Office is appalled at the Minister's unfounded accusation, adding that his behaviour falls short of the requirements of a Defence Minister whose office calls for sobriety and reflection.
