NPP holds church service to mark first anniversary of victory in December 7 election.

A National thanksgiving service has been held to mark one year since the NPP led by Nana Akufo Addo won the election which brought the party to power.  

President Akufo Addo asked for prayers and guidance for his government to continue to serve with humility in order to address the problems of the country.  It was all white at the Accra International Conference Centre as President Akufo Addo and the NPP gave thanks to God a year after winning the 2016 election. 

The party and it's then flag bearer, Nana Akufo Addo have on two unsuccessful attempts tried to wrest power from the NDC, the then party in government. In the 2016 general election, the party secured a resounding 53 percent of total votes as against 44 percent for its closest rival the NDC. 

The thanksgiving service saw big wigs within the party in attendance. President Akufo Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and their spouses, Ministers of State, MPs and the Chief Executives of some State-owned enterprises were present. 

The Harmonious Chorale and the Winneba Youth Choir entertained the congregation as President Akufo Addo and his Vice dance to his favourite Oye song.  

In a sermon the General Overseer of Power Chapel Worldwide, Rev Kusi Boateng said Ghana will be whole under President Akufo Addo. President Akufo Addo paid tribute to some members of the party who lost their lives during the electioneering. 

He asked for God's guidance as his government addresses the challenges of the country.  Prayers were said for the nation, the President and his Vice and the other arms of government.
