Schools in Kumasi and Asokore-Manpong to close down Monday over late Asantehemaa traditional rites                         

All Basic and Second Cycle schools within the Kumasi Metropolis and Asokore Mampong Municipality will remain closed for the week starting Monday 

Speaking to Radio Ghana in Kumasi, Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Directorate of Education, Casandra Twum Ampofo, said the closure is to allow traditional rites to be performed as part of the two-week final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem.
