15th November, 2017 The Daily Graphic urges Ghanaians to embrace the President Akufo-Addo's call to see every day as a sanitation day since it is the duty of every citizen. The paper says Ghana has over the years failed woefully in delivering good sanitation to its people. The Graphic says it is a shame for a country that sees itself as the gateway to Africa to be ranked second in Africa in open defecation. The Daily Graphic notes that previous governments have tried on similar efforts to put the problem to rest but did not succeed, it is therefore optimistic the current government will learn lessons from this and not travel the same path of past governments. The Ghanaian Times expects good news from the Finance Minister as he presents the Budget to parliament today. The paper says one key issue in the minds of many Ghanaians is to hear that electricity tariffs will be reduced to boost businesses and reduce the cost of living in the country. The Times also expects that the Minister will announce the creation of jobs for Ghanaians especially the unemployed youth. It also urges government to put in measures to minimize or eliminate corruption completely in various sectors of the economy. The Daily Heritage comments on the National Sanitation Campaign. It urges government to move beyond paper work of the program and ensure its comprehensive implementation. The paper says there is the need to give serious attention to sanitation like it is given to galamsey in the country. It therefore appeals to all stakeholders to fully enforce the laws and punish offenders if necessary. GBCONLINE ---DECRYPTED---
