GMA Elects Dr. Frank Ankobea as its President The Ghana Medical Association, GMA has elected the Dr. Frank Ankobea, a consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as the new President of the Association in Kumasi. Dr. Frank Ankobea replaces DCOP Dr. Ebenezer Ewusi-Emmim who was defeated by his Vice President, Dr. Frank Ankobea. The other three elected new executives were Dr. Frank Serebour as Vice President, Dr. Justice Yankson as General Secretary, Dr. Titus Beyuo as assistant General secretary, Dr. Mary Amoako-Coleman as treasure, Dr. Eward Frimpong Boateng and Drs. Mrs. Elizabeth Esi Crentstil as executive members. An oath of elected executives and secrecy were administered and supervised by Kumasi High Court Judge, Justice George Krofa Addae. The out-going President of the association DCOP Dr. Ebenezer Ewusi-Emmim commended the members for give him the opportunity to serve them. He commended the members of the association for numerous support enjoyed. In his acceptance address, Dr. Frank Ankobea assured members of his commitment to address teeming challenges confronting the association and has therefore urged government to absorb newly trained doctors to ensure doctor to patients ratio is addressed.
