NSS withholds allowances as a result of non-biometric registration and not lack of funds The National Service Scheme, (NSS) has refuted claims that it has withheld the allowances of more than eight thousand NSS personnel because government does not have money to pay their allowances. Over the weekend, the National Service Scheme in a statement said the allowances of eight thousand service personnel had been withheld over suspected fraud. However some have made comments raising suspicion that the decision is because government does not have enough money to pay the service personnel. But Speaking on Uniiq Breakfast Drive, the Public Relations Officer of the NSS Ambrose Entsiwah, maintained that the withholding of the allowances is as a result of non-biometric registration and not lack of funds.
