Government urged to preserve fishing industry An active player in the fishing industry, Gladys Dede Adjetey, has called on President Akufo-Addo to make the fishing industry the preserve of Ghanaians since foreigners are hijacking it by pushing locals to what she called, ''the degrading fringes''. She said the fishing industry has supported and will continue to support women in the coastal communities. The women, she said rely on it for all what they count worthy in their lives, adding that if the country allows foreigners to take over the industry, the dignity of the coastal woman would be in tatters. She appealed to the President to make an ''indigenized'' fishing industry one of his legacies for Ghanaians. GNA ---DECRYPTED---
