President Akufo-Addo launches warehouse component of IPEP

President Akufo-Addo has officially launched the warehouse component of the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), and also laid blocks for the construction of the first District Warehouse at Ejura in the Ashanti region. 

The occasion coincided with the national celebration of this year's World Food Day.

The Infrastructure for Eradication of Poverty, which is under the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives, will oversee the eventual implementation of the One Constituency-One Million Dollars policy.  

As part of the IPEP, a one thousand metric tonne capacity warehouse to be fitted with drying and freezing facilities for the storage of agricultural produce in each of the 216 administrative districts in the country. 

The initiative is part of the campaign promises of then candidate Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of last December's polls.
