NADMO links disaster vulnerability to indiscipline in construction practices

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has been encouraged to demolish buildings that pose danger to the public as well as those that are illegally sited. 

The Director General of NADMO, Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh, made this known when the organisation joined the University of Ghana Disaster Prevention Club to mark this year's International Day for Disaster Reduction in Accra. 

Mr Agyemang Prempeh attributed the major cause of disaster vulnerability in the country to indiscipline in construction practices. 

He said the organisation will not hesitate to enforce the law in the quest to reduce disaster risk and make the country resilient to disasters.
