Give higher priority to workers' safety – NMC tells media owners The National Media Commission (NMC) has tasked all media houses to put the safety of their employees first especially in the discharge of their duties. The Chairman of the Commission, Nana Kwesi Gyan Apenteng, made the point when he led a delegation of the NMC to commensurate with the staff and management of NET 2 over the passing of Mohammed Ashaley Yakubu. The National Media Commission's call for safety of employees of media houses follows the death of Mohammed Ashaley Yakubu, a cameraman with Net 2 and a member of the Presidential Press Corps, during last Saturday's (October 8) gas explosion at Atomic Junction. The Chairman of the Commission Nana Kwesi Gyan Appenteng said employers must provide safety and proper equipment for their journalist to discharge their duties effectively and conveniently.
