FIFAU17WC: Ghana plot India downfall

Ghana U-17 male national team will play against India on Thursday in the final group A games of the FIFA U-17 world cup in New Delhi. The Black Starlets who are at 3rd position with three points are poised for a victory over the host nation to confirm their qualification to the next stage of the competition.

However, after seeing Jeakson Thounaojam score the nation’s first ever goal in a FIFA organised tournament, the Indians will be urging their young lads to fetch a win against two time champions Ghana to keep the dream of advancing alive as one of the best 3rd placed finishers.

Though Ghana will miss the absence of midfielder Abdul Yussif, given tournament pedigree as former winners nothing short of victory against India Colts for a successful qualification will be on the minds of Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and his charges.

Elsewhere, Colombia will come up against group leaders U.S in a must win game for the South Americans to bring their group campaign back on track.

In group B African side Mali faces a stern competition against New Zealand who are desperate for a win to pick the other available slot whilst bottom placed Turkey meets leaders Paraguay at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
