The Daily Graphic salutes all the teachers who were awarded for distinguishing themselves at the 23rd Teachers Awards which was held October 5. The paper says the contribution of the teacher cannot be measured as they  are the brain behind the acquisition of all forms of knowledge.  The Graphic in this regard calls on government and other relevant stakeholders to renew their commitment to  ensuring  that the educational sector is well positioned to carry out it vital role in building a productive and successful society. The paper further calls on government to provide teachers with  decent working conditions, safe and healthy working environment, quality training and continuous professional development to operate at their optimum.  This the Graphic believes will help Ghana achieve UN sustainable Development Goal Four.  

The Ghanaian Times expresses worry about the state of the Ayensu Starch Factory which has not lived up to expectations. The paper recalls  the promises made farmers when the factory was re-launched a year ago. According to the paper, the current state of the factory has not only disappointed farmers, but the entire country  because of its inability to function as expected. The  Times urges  government and those charged with the responsibility of ensuring the everyday running of the factory to do all they can to ensure the factory gets back on its feet.
