Man accused of defrauding Kofi Adams granted bail

Entertainment critic Arnold Asante who is in the grips of the police for allegedly defrauding NDC national Organiser, Kofi Adams of GH¢840,000.00 has been granted bail.
 
An Accra Circuit court presided over by Jane Harriet Akweley Quaye granted the suspect bail in the sum of GH¢ 900,000 with six sureties. 

Each of the sureties must be gainfully employed.
 
Prosecution led by ASP Stephen Adjei informed the court that the accused who has absented himself from court always comes with an excuse of not feeling well.

He therefore prayed the court to allow an independent medical examination to verify whether the accused is really indisposed but the court declined the request.

Asante is said to have taken an amount of GH¢840,000.00 from Kofi Adams last year December under a false pretense that he has won a contract at Goldfields Limited Tarkwa, to supply lorry tyres.

The accused person who promised to pay back the money in the same month refused with an excuse that the company is processing payment and in no time he will receive the money and will pay into the accounts of the complainant.
 
Investigations revealed that, the accused person never bid and won any contract with Goldfields.
