Poisonous puffer fish no more being sold or consumed - Fishmongers

Last month, reports emerged that four persons died and many others had stomach upset and were hospitalised after allegedly consuming the poisonous Puffer fish at Kpando Torkor in the Volta Region. 

The Food and Drugs Authority, FDA, moved in to intensify education on the fish. 

The Kpando Municipal Assembly also placed a ban on the sale of the puffer fish in the area. 

In this Exclusive Report, GBC’s Rebecca Ekpe who was in Kpando, found out from the fisher folks, what the current situation is regarding consumption of the poisonous puffer fish.
