PUWU wants due process followed in privatisation of ECG

The Public Utility Workers Union, PUWU, says it is not opposed to the privatisation of ECG.
 
What it demands is that due process embedded in the laws of the land is followed diligently. 

Speaking on GBC's current affairs programme, ‘Talking Point,’ which discussed privatising ECG, the General Secretary of PUWU, Michael Adumatta Nyantakyi said the perception that PUWU is deliberately stalling the process is erroneous.
 
He said the union is prepared to engage all the stakeholders to facilitate the process.

The Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Standards Authority, Dr. Opoku Adusei said government is incurring debt and waste in the system as far as power generation and distribution is concerned. 

He said that was exactly the challenge that government is trying to address by bringing in a private hand.
