Bono-Ahafo NPP Commends Members For Splendid Performance In 2016 Elections

The New Patritotic Party (NPP) in Bono-Ahafo commends their members for the splendid performance in the 2016 Elections, which saw the party increasing its parliamentary seats from 13 to 20 out of the 29 in the Region.  

However, they must also be ready to unite and tackle the challenges of being in Government, if they are to be retained beyond the 2020 Elections.  

The call for unity runs through most of the speeches at the Bono-Ahafo NPP Annual Delegates Conference in Sunyani.

The 2017 Annual Delegates Conference of the NPP in Bono-Ahafo, the first in about 12 years, climaxed Constituency level Delegates Conferences that have been held by all the 29 Constituencies in the Region.  

The Delegates included Constituency Executives, Student Groups, Council of Elders and Patrons among others.  

Also present were the Acting National Chairman, Freddie Blay and Acting General Secretary, John Boadu as well as other National Executives of the NPP, MPs, Ministers and former MPs and Ministers.  

The Conference served as a platform for the review of the activities of the Party as well as strategizing on how to consolidate the gains made in the last elections. 
 
Resolutions for amendments in the NPP Constitution made by the Constituencies at their Conferences, were also firmed up for presentation at the National Delegates Conference, slated for Cape Coast next month.  

In a welcome address, the Regional Chairman, Thomas Adu Appiah, commended the Founding Fathers and the various sections of the NPP since its creation in 1992, for the roles they played in getting the Party to increase its Parliamentary Seats from 13 to 20 in the last elections.  

He noted that regaining power has brought in its wake a multiplicity of challenges which the Party must unite to surmount.  

The Member of Parliament, (MP) for Sunyani East and host of the Conference, Kwasi Asomah Cheremeh, when he took his turn at the podium, urged NPP Members to do their utmost to assist those who have received appointments under the NPP Government to be successful instead of sabotaging them.  

He stressed that is the surest way for the NPP retaining power to help Ghana and the Party.  

The MP for Sunyani East, who is also the Majority Chief Whip, advised Municipal and District Chief Executives to help the Party and its members but not at the expense of their work as Municipal and District Executives.  

The Bono-Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh, continued with the theme of unity in the Party.  

He said Bono-Ahafo will be a key battle ground in the next elections as it is clear that who ever wins the Region is likely to win the elections.

The Regional Secretary and Treasurer, gave their reports to the Conference.
