Supreme Court Dismisses Application By Woyome Against Oral Examination The Supreme Court presided over by Justice William Atuguba has dismissed an application filed by businessman Alfred Agbeshi Woyome to stop his oral examination by the state. According to the three member panel of judges the application is misconceived because the matter had been settled by CI 98 as against the CI 73 under which the applicant moved the motion. Mr. Woyome had gone to the court seeking a reversal of the decision by a sole judge that paved the way for the state to orally examine him over the fifty-one point two million cedis. Meanwhile, the court has again struck out a motion filed by the businessman to put on hold the execution of the judgment by the sole Judge. Earlier, both parties argued for and against the motion. The Deputy Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame appealed to the court to award cost of ten thousand cedis against the applicant since, Mr. Woyome has been filing frivolous applications one after the other which is preventing the state from retrieving the money but counsel for Woyome Ken Anku pleaded with the court that his client is down and cannot afford to pay any fine. He told the Court that they used lawful means to address their concerns and that the continuation of piling cost on his client will lead to the death of his client. The Court however, refused the request by the Deputy Attorney General to award the cost. GBCONLINE
