Efforts Underway To Rescue Possible Survivors Of Collapsed Mining Pit At Prestea-Nsuta

At least 14 illegal miners are feared trapped in a mine at Prestea-Nsuta in the Western Region. 

The miners, numbering 19, were believed to have been trapped after their pit caved-in following a downpour.  

Only five of the miners escaped from the collapsed pit. 

The Prestea District Police Commander, Superintendent Atsu Dzinaku said rescue efforts are underway to bring out possible survivors.
