Zongo Development Minister Promises Judicious Use Of Allocated Funds The Minster for Inner Cities and Zongo Development Alhaji Saddique Boniface Abubakar says even though the 219 million cedis allocated to his ministry may not be enough to solve all the problems in the Zongo communities, he is determined to utilize it judiciously in order not to be seen as a failure when he exits the ministry one day. He asked residents of the Zongos to see the ministry as a catalyst for their development and not a Charity institution to distribute monies for personal use. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Alhaji Saddique Abubakar, said the draft Bill for the Zongo Development Fund will be ready and presented to parliament for approval by the end of the month. He said more than 30 diplomatic missions have expressed interest in assisting the Zongo Development Agenda. Alhaji Abubakar gave more insight into what the bill may entail. He said the fund will not be the type to be distributed as alms but rather it will be used for infrastructure, development and other viable ventures to benefit the Zongo dweller. GBC
