Six suspected persons arrested in Somanya youth clashes with police over electricity tariffs The Somanya police have arrested six persons suspected to be part of a youth group who went on the rampage and attacked the Somanya Police Station. They also burnt a police vehicle in the process. The group went on demonstration when the police arrested the Assembly man for the area, Jones Adamatey who is said to have organized a demonstration last Friday to protest against what they say are high electricity tariffs. The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Service ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told Radio Ghana that the group also freed four inmates of the station. An eye witness, Ayettey confirmed the unlawful act by the youth. He said they embarked on the demonstration because officials of the electricity company of Ghana disconnected and removed meters from the Assemblyman`s block factory. GBCONLINE
