The Daily Graphic salutes all Africans on the occasion of AU Day and urges all to spare some thought for the task of making Africa a better continent to live on. The paper says as the continent commemorates the founding of the Organisation of Africa Unity, it is important to acknowledge that the AU has chalked up some success such as fighting for the independence of almost all Africa countries. It said no progress has however been made on the road to economic integration and the free movement of people, goods and capital. The paper says Africa is a big market capable of competing with rich economies if African leaders put personal ambitions aside to integrate the economies and break down colonial boundaries to enable free movement of people, goods and services across the borders of member states.

The Times calls on government to take a serious view of the involvement of the military in galamsey activities and investigations conducted to unearth the truth. Making reference to an accusation of the military providing protection to illegal miners by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Peter Amewu the paper says an order must be made for the withdrawal of all military personnel at galamsey sites across the country. It says efforts by the Media Coalition and the country as a whole to stop the menaces would be useless if immediate steps are not taken to ensure that no one works against the collective efforts. The paper therefore urges the citizenry not to stop fighting until all the lands, river bodies and forests are secured.
