No special criteria for selecting Chief Justice  - Abraham Amaliba

Soon the current Chief Justice Georgina Wood would retire giving way for the selection of a new Chief Justice. What are the criteria and how can politics be diffused from the selection.  

A Legal Practitioner, Abraham Amaliba says there is no special criteria used in the selection of a Chief Justice.  

For him, what is important is that the candidate must be a Supreme Court Judge and must be aligned to the ruling party's philosophy.   

He told GBC’s George Ankrah that the appointment is laced with politics and it would be difficult to dissociate it as such.  He suggested that the most senior person be  appointed.
