16th anniversary of May 9 disaster

Two memorial services have been held in Accra and Kumasi to remember and offer prayers for the 127 victims of the May 9 disaster. The Accra event was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports while Herbert Mensah ,organiser of the May 9 events graced the Kumasi event which was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. In both services, prayers were offered for the departed souls. Ghana is May 9 marking the 16th Anniversary of the May 9 disaster that claimed the lives of 127 football fans at the Ohene Djan sports stadium. The fans were there to watch a match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
