University of Ghana forms research group to help tackle galamsey menace 

The University of Ghana has formed a research group involving many disciplines to help tackle the galamsey menace. 

The group includes people from education, theatre, communication, chemistry, animal science and biology. 

The Director of the Institute of Sanitation and Environment Studies, Prof. Chris Gordon who disclosed this to Radio Ghana said academia would be doing a disservice to the country if they do not bring evidence- based research to bear on addressing the galamsey menace.
