Development expert applauds AMA’s decongestion exercise

May 4, the Accra Metropolitan Assembly [AMA] embarked on decongestion in the metropolis to clear squatters from the streets.

But some critics and Human Rights groups are calling for decongestion with a human face.

Radio Ghana seeks the view of a Development Expert Prof. Emmanuel Asiamah who says it is time to rise up to the task.

He urged government to go ahead to ensure law and order.

Meanwhile, the Public Affairs Director of the A.M.A, Numoo Blafo says the decongestion exercise would be sustained to ensure sanity in the city of Accra.

He said although the Authority does not have enough personnel to man all the affected communities, the AMA is carrying out its mandate and the media should also educate the encroachers to stop.
