Institutional challenges propping galamsey should be checked- CSO

The President, International Assocaition for Impact Assessment, IAIA Ghana, Yaw Ameyaw-Osei says, institutional challenges propping up the galamsey business should be addressed as the campaign against illegal mining gathers momentum.  

Mr. Ameyaw-Osei, an expert in Environmental Impact Assessment- EIA, says the situation where licences are issued before an EIA is conducted on potential mining sites leads to judgement debts and is a contributory factor to environmental degradation, Mr. Ameyaw-Osei was speaking at an interaction between scientists and the media in Accra.
