ICU calls for human resource auditing to address over staffing in public sector

The General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, ICU, Solomon Kotei has called for a proper human resource auditing to be carried out in the public sector. 

This, he believes will address the issue of over staffing as well as effect change in attitudes. 

Speaking to Radio Ghana, Mr Kotei said issues concerning workers have not been addressed as they still struggle to pay high utility bills. 

On the ECG Concession, Mr Kotei said the Ghanaian worker is not happy with government's decision.  

He appealed for engagement with all stakeholders to come up with an acceptable strategy. 

Meanwhile, the President in his May Day address Monday called on Ghanaian Workers to have a change in attitude towards work as this is the only way the change Ghanaians want to see could be attainable.  

The Public Service Workers Union say they agree perfectly with the President but thinks when workers are well motivated and the right structures are put in place their attitude towards work will automatically change. 

In an interview with Radio Ghana, the General Secretary of the Union, Richard Ampaabeng, said if stringent measures are put in place to check workers, especially those in the public sector, their attitude towards work will definitely change.
