President Akufo-Addo Confirms Appointments Of IGP, CDS And CAS

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has in consultation with the Council of State, confirmed the appointments of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante Appeatu, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Armed Forces, Major General Obed Boamah Akwa and the Chief of Army Staff (CAS), Major General William Azure Ayamdo.

The confirmation was done pursuant to Article 202 and 212 of the 1992 constitution which mandate the President to make such appointments in consultation with the Council of State.

A statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, said “the appointments take effect forthwith.”
