World Bank to increase support to Africa's Agricultural Sector to $1.7 billion The world Bank is to increase its support to African's Agricultural sector to 1.7 billion dollars in 2017. According to World Bank's first Poverty and Shared Prosperity Report, Africa can only reduce extreme poverty with a concerted efforts by policy makers to improve funding into the agricultural sector. The World Bank's latest report revealed, that agricultural growth in the last 20 years has not seen any major growth and nations can improve on this by optimising spending in agriculture, improve subsidies and extension services for farmers and also improve budgetary process for the sector.
